"Memory lane [is about to be] up in the headlights" quite soon for Jason Aldean. The country singer and his wife of 12 years, Jessica Ussery, have decided to end their marriage. Aldean filed for divorce from Ussery on Friday, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, People reports.
On Thursday, Aldean's rep confirmed that the couple were having problems. "I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time," the rep said. "It's a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way."
The divorce comes nearly six months after Aldean was pictured getting cozy with American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr. Aldean quickly issued a public apology saying, "The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys."
But despite Aldean's apology, Aldean walked the red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards without his wife or their daughters Keeley, 10, and Kendyl, 5 earlier this month.
