Justin Timberlake revealed in a video on Wednesday that he has yet another single on the way... and we can't seem to get past its title, "Take Back The Night."
In the video, Timberlake flashes signs with the names and release dates of his most recent singles ("Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors") before revealing a final poster board that flaunts the title "Take Back The Night" — a song not included in The 20/20 Experience. Before the video fades to black, we're treated to a snippet of the new ditty.
But about that title. Could it be that Timberlake's song refers to the event Take Back the Night, as in the annual protest against rape and other forms of sexual violence (celebrated by cities and college campuses all over the country)? Major kudos to our favorite SNL host in that case! Only Mr. Sexy Back could whisk up a song that's not only catchy, but also speaks out about a serious issue.
As much as we'd love to commend the smooth singer for dedicating a jam to a worthy cause, we highly doubt that was actually JT's intention for the track. But it's surprising that Timberlake wasn't familiar with the organization — or at the very least, didn't run across it when he googled to see if the name was already taken. A simple search takes you right to the official Take Back The Night official website.
Maybe if we're lucky his follow-up song will be "Relay For Life."
