Well, folks, you can finally mark your calendars: Lady Gaga's next album drops on November 11. On Friday morning, the singer posted an official statement to her Facebook page, announcing the fall release of ARTPOP as well as release dates for the album's lead single (August 19) and the start of the pre-ordering process (September 1).
And in case that isn't exciting enough, there's more. ARTPOP will be released in conjunction with an app of the same name. According to the statement on Lady Gaga's Facebook, the app will allow users to "share in the adrenaline of fame as they build and share their own projects, chat with one another, and watch in real-time on a virtual globe as ARTPOP explodes onto the physical and virtual universe at once on November 11, our 'BIG BANG!'" Well that description is certainly not lacking in dramatics — sounds like a Lady Gaga project indeed.
Regarding the album itself, the announcement describes ARTPOP as "a celebration of obsession." While we're not exactly sure what that will translate to musically, we can certainly say that we are looking forward to finding out.
