The iconic star, mother to the actor's 24-year-old son Redmond O'Neal, lost her battle with anal cancer on 25 June (09), aged 62.

Fawcett documented her fight with the disease in Farrah's Story, which followed the Charlie's Angel as she attempted to seek out new treatments in a bid to prolong her life.

The late actress received her fourth Emmy nomination on 16 July (09) when she was recognised as an executive producer of the TV project.

And O'Neal insists Fawcett continued her brave fight even after shooting stopped.

He says, "She never closed her eyes. Her eyes were open for the last three weeks, watching us. She didn't speak much but she watched us and then finally she closed her eyes. I think she was holding on, she didn't want to go. She had things left on her plate to finish, to accomplish. And now she has an Emmy nomination. That's pretty wonderful.".
