A woman named Jordan Scott has sent a cease and desist letter to the publishers of Meyer's 2008 novel Breaking Dawn, the fourth in the hit series, over claims it bears a "striking and substantial similarity" to her 2006 fantasy book The Nocturne.

In the letter, Scott accuses Meyer of recreating specific scenes from her own vampire novel and using near-identical dialogue.

But a representative for Meyer is adamant Scott's claims are completely false.

The spokesperson tells TMZ.com, "The claim that Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim.

Meyer was hit with a plagiarism lawsuit in April (09) from her former college roommate Heidi Stanton, who claimed the hit vampire books were based on a short story she wrote while both women studied at Brigham Young University, Utah.
