The world's number one golf player's career and image were rocked last year (09) when news of his numerous affairs hit the headlines.

He went into hiding after a public backlash that saw him lose several lucrative advertising deals. He entered a rehab facility for sexual addiction therapy before apologising to his family, friends and colleagues in a press conference last month (Feb10).

But Woods' caddy Steve Williams - who has worked with the star since 1999 - is fuming with the 34 year old, and is adamant he would have exposed Woods if he had been privy to the affairs.

Williams tells New Zealand network TV3, "I'm a straight-up sort of person. If I had known something was going on, the whistle would have been blown.

"Of course I'm mad at him, why would you not be? I'm close with his wife and he's got two lovely children and he's let them down."

But Williams insists he will stick by Woods as he tries to rebuild his life: "When a guy's having a tough time, it's not up to me to beat him with a stick right now. He's getting enough grilling from everybody else. Tiger's one of my closest friends and he needs my support right now and I'd never think of walking away."
