Soooo many people got married this weekend! As in, celebrities! As in, people who made like Megan Fox and promised not to sleep with anyone but their spouses for the rest of their lives! Neither one of us could do that, seeing as you like to party and the only thing I do on Monday nights is watch The Bachelorette.
First up, we have John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, who married each other on Saturday in Como, Italy. Blunt, 27, wore a "custom cream chiffon sweetheart draped Marchesa gown with embroidered detail," and nobody cares what Krasinski, 30, wore. It was outdoors, people ate with their pinkies in the air, and wondered whether or not it was a bad idea to invite George Clooney because Krasinski might breathe in some of his "perpetual bachelordom" and ruin his marriage. Most people were probably happy to see George, however, because that meant they got to look at his "girlfriend" Elisabetta Canalis, which I will forever and always mistake for cannabis. The two had been engaged since August, 2009, and had been dating since 2008.
Next up was Carrie Underwood and hockey player Mike Fisher, who were also married on Saturday, at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Georgia. Underwood wore a "Chantilly lace dress created for her by Monique Lhuillier," and it doesn't matter what Fisher wore, because it wasn't his Ottawa Senators jersey (I thought that's the only reason anybody becomes a hockey player -- so they can do ANYTHING in that jersey!). Fisher proposed to Underwood on December 20th of last year, after they'd been going for ice cream on Fridays and bagels on Sundays for a year.
And finally, we're about to get a little retro! Martin Lawrence married longtime girlfriend Shamicka Gibbs at their home in Los Angeles on Saturday. They've been together a while: they have two daughters, a home, and a Big Momma series to call their own. Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington were among the guests, which means it might have been the winning wedding of the weekend.
