LeAnn Rimes is working harder than a calcium supplement to convince us that cheating on her husband with Eddie Cibrian was the right move for her to make because she wasn't happy in her marriage. And now she's so unashamed of her happiness with Eddie that she's tweeting pictures of him down on one knee and pretending to propose to her on Halloween. It's clear she's asking us to put the "cheating on the husband" thing in the closet somewhere. But she's making it really hard! She's always talking about it and saying things that are meant to make the affair okay, which goes against her efforts to assume responsibility and acknowledge what she did was wrong! She's making it worse! For instance, in People, she's quoted as saying it wasn't "like her" to cheat on her husband. She said,
"That's just not me. What happened is not who I am, period. I do know how much I love [my ex]. So, I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can't." She continued, "It happens every day to so many people. You had two couples whose marriages didn't work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love."
See how that's contradictory? "It isn't who I am" implies it was out of her character to cheat on her husband. But that argument is moot because she DID cheat on her husband, which means it IS in her character. Then she goes on and tries to make cheating on your husband legitimate because it happens all the time, and it's okay if it leads you to take it to the next level and leave your husband for your lover. I'd like to do what LeAnn is asking me to do here, but she's going to have to spell it out a lot better.
