Well that didn’t take too long. Ricky Gervais says on his website that he has been approached to host the Golden Globes for a third consecutive time despite the “fiasco” that went down this year. He politely declined the offer saying “I don't think I should. I don't know what I could do better. I certainly couldn't get more press for them, that's for sure. You know me. Two seasons is enough.”
For those of you who are shocked about the Hollywood Foreign Press Association going back on their word of never having him host again, welcome to the world. Where press, buzz, and ratings rule. I, for one, love the change of heart. I think Gervais was a great host, but I understand his reasoning. Three times is an overkill (just ask Spider-Man), go out on top (like Hugh Hefner), leave them wanting more (not like Charlie Sheen), and you know what? I should host the Golden Globes. Getting drunk and making fun of celebrities? Just another Tuesday morning.
