At the New York premiere of her new movie, One Day, Anne Hathaway spent more time promoting her three year-long relationship with actor and jewelry designer, Adam Shulman, than anything else. She told People, "I'm a romantic at heart. He's the best! I couldn't say enough about him." She broadcasted a similar message to Marie Claire U.K., saying "I am very much in love with him, [only] Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"
Hathaway seems very happy with the way her life has bounced back from the low of splitting up with Italian businessman Raffello Follieri in 2008, and then watching him go to jail that same year for wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. She now seems to have gained some perspective on the whole thing, telling Marie Claire "People deal with horrible things all the time. Downstairs in this pub, someone has a parent who is battling cancer. Someone has just lost their job. Life is really fucked up, and it's really painful sometimes." But instead of reminiscing about the past, Hathway has her eyes set on a pretty big birthday (her 30th) that's rapidly approaching and she's taking the time to make sure she'll appreciate it. "I think it's the beginning of a process that really blossoms when you hit 30," she said. "It's when you stop apologizing for who you are. It's nice not to know things and that's okay. People aren't going to judge you for asking questions. That's such freedom."
