Looks like Lindsay Lohan has turned into quite the leper in directing circles. No one wants to hire her! I mean yes, she's had problems with drinking, cocaine, rehab, and that whole hitting a baby stroller with her car thing, but she's had months and months of sitting around (under house arrest) in her lavish apartment to think about all the bad decisions she's made and really wants to make amends. But apparently not everyone is convinced that Lohan is turning over a new (more sober) leaf.
Reports are claiming that Lohan was very close to landing a role in the upcoming film Magic Mike, but the part ended up going to model-turned-newbie actress Riley Keough (Elvis's granddaughter). A source close to production stated, "Riley was cast as the girl who dates Alex Pettyfer's character in the movie. The character is trouble with a capital T, which Lindsay would have been perfect for." So why did director Steven Soderbergh decide to give the role to a newbie and not our acting vet Lindsay? The insider admits, "He didn't want to deal with all that. Nobody wanted to go there." Tough luck Lohan -- or maybe luck has nothing to do with it. Perhaps this is just the beginning of a long line of rejections that the actress is going to see in the future. Has Lindsay made herself forever unemployable? This is such a tragic blow to the entertainment industry, losing one of Hollywood's great talents. I mean she's contributed so much like Mean Girls and....Parent Trap. Alright, so I admit it -- I won't be devastated if I never see her drunken face on the silver screen again, but with the economy in such dire straights as it is, I can't help but relate to the pressure of finding a job. Perhaps it's time for her to venture out into another career direction! With all her experience in a courtroom these days, she may have what it takes to make a great lawyer (no way can BS her way out of trouble like this girl). Just stay away from the pharmaceutical industry my dear.
