Rihanna's 'Cheers (Drink to That)' Music Video Tells Us to Get Drunk

Aug 26, 2011 | 10:13am EDT

It's the freakin' weekend baby, so what does that mean? It's time to unwind by getting wasted! This is the admirable message shown in Rihanna's "Cheers (Drink to That)" music video, which also features the singer's new BFF, Avril Lavigne (who knew?). And yes, those "Yeah, Yeah's" are Avril's musical contributions and they are crucial to the song. There's really nothing like watching people get crunk and making bad life decisions, but hey, as long as you had a blast, that's all that matters, right? Don't get me wrong, I'm all about letting losing after a hard work week, but there's a difference in drinking to get drunk and drinking to relax -- the video seems to promote one over the other. But I do like how they included footage from Rihanna's tours into the mix, and even Kanye West and Jay-Z make cameo appearances, so it's got that going for it. The song is definitely catchy in itself and certainly clubbing material. So, if you're feeling stressed out from a terrible work week, use this video for inspiration as to how to spend your weekend (this is how great ideas are born). Just remember, "Don't let the bastards get you down, turn it around with another round." Cheers -- and let the bad decisions roll! Check out the video below:
