Kate Hudson's parents, Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, divorced in 1980 when their daughter was just eighteen months old. Then when Goldie met Kurt Russell for the second time the set of Swing Shift and entered into a relationship with him in 1983, Kate and her brother Oliver started viewing Russell as their father figure. In the years since her youth, Kate has solidified herself as an A-list actress and has talked very openly about how she considers Russell to be her father because her biological father Bill "doesn't know [her] from a hole in the wall." Bill maintains he has reached out to his daughter numerous times and encouraging her to get to know her half-siblings, but he insists Kate has never responded to him. A few years ago, Bill gave an interview with his daughter Lalania and pleaded for Kate to let them into their lives, and said "Katie I am your dad and I love you with all of my heard and I beg you to forgive me for all the times I have not been there for you. Every day I miss you and have shed more tears over this terrible situation than you can imagine. But I beg you to stop this hurt and anger and come home and meet your baby sister. The time is now to stop dancing out of our lives. It is time for us to heal as a family."
But Bill's pleas have since stopped, and now he's decided to write a tell-all book as a means of convincing Kate to re-enter his life. The book, called "2 Versions: The Other Side of Fame and Family," is summarized on its website as being Bill's experience with parental alienation, and how his parental rights suffered when Kate and Oliver entered the spotlight. Additionally, the website explains Bill's goals by writing this book are to establish a "healthy adult relationship" with his children "before it's too late," and to reveal what it was like to be married to Goldie Hawn. The book hits stands on November 1st, but Radar Online writes Bill is expected to make numerous personal attacks on his ex-wife Hawn, and his daughter Kate because of how much he's done it in the past. In January, Radar sat down with Bill and he called Kate "a spoiled brat in my eyes and at the end of the day, she should meet her little sister. I should meet my grandchild and she should help her grandmother," who is suffering from Alzheimer's. He continued, "I'd be beyond thrilled if she let me meet my grandchild. But let's face it, Kate has a four-year-old step-sister who she doesn't even want to see. How sick is that. I love Kate, but I think she has been contrived and destructive with me and with her other brothers and sisters. She has done stuff which is just awful."
But let's be real -- how terrible can she be? She stars in Matthew McConaughey movies!
