It seems like Hollywood has had a double dose of baby fever this summer. Whether it's a pregnancy announcement or the actual birth of a baby, the entertainment industry has been experiencing quite the baby boom effect. Then of course there's always the infamous pregnancy rumors that seem to haunt our favorite celebrities time and time again. But the media can cross Katy Perry off that particular rumor mill because she's not ready to be a Hollywood mom just yet. But the singer isn't against the idea of having kids somewhere down the line.
Perry graces the latest cover of InStyle magazine and opens up about her future plans for motherhood. When asked if she and her British hubby, Russell Brand, were ready to start a family, Katy admits she’s too busy with her career to have babies on the brain, admitting, “Not yet. I think if you’re married, it’s often in your future… I think in the future—the very far future—when I have children, I’ll have a more open approach, setting boundaries and showing them what their decisions and choices will breed.” But when that times comes, you can expect for her to be a very kind-hearted, yet protective mother. She may be a pop princess with a personality as bright as the many different colors of her hair, but Katy confesses she has a fierce, fiery side that comes out when it needs to. She tells the magazine, “I’m not going to sit and be steamrolled; I’m going to stand up against things that are unjust. I am full of unicorns and Care Bears 99 percent of the time, but don’t open Pandora’s Box of that other 1 percent—because it’s there!" Sounds like she'll be a great role model for any kids she has down the line. But for now it's just going to have to remain a Teenage Dream.
