Jennifer Aniston Was Furious With Brad Pitt for Commenting On Their Marriage

Shortly after Parade published its interview with Brad Pitt and quoted him as saying he attributed his previously "pathetic" life to the fact that he was married to Jennifer Aniston, Pitt smartly and quickly issued a clarification that stated his words were misinterpreted by the magazine, saying "the point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself -- and that, I am responsible for." He went on to say, "It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly."

But Us Weekly claims that Aniston doesn't believe Pitt set the record straight fast enough. On Aniston's reaction to Pitt's comments to Parade, a source told the publication, "She was annoyed. She thought it was rude an inappropriate." Another source claims Aniston's "team" was so outraged over the actor's comments that her agent and publicist "went ballistic" and even went as far as to place some angry phone calls to Pitt's representatives. The source explained, "They got his team involved and Brad was read the riot act -- the only way you can read the riot act to Brad Pitt." Apparently it was their actions that led to Pitt issuing additional remarks about their 4½ year marriage.

This isn't the first time Aniston has been displeased with the way people have talked about her (however directly or indirectly) to the media. In April of 2008, her ex John Mayer bragged to a bunch of photographers about how it was his decision to end their relationship, saying "People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right. It's not about years, it's about going out with somebody, being truthful along the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out." When Vogue interviewed Aniston in November of 2008, writer Jonathan Van Meter asked her her thoughts about Mayer's decision to talk to reporters about their personal lives, and she said, "Trust me, you'll never see that happen again from that man." There was also a similar circumstance when Angelina Jolie was interviewed for the January 2007 issue of Vogue, and in it she talked openly about how she fell in love with Pitt while they were filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Aniston's response to Jolie's remarks also appeared in the November 2008 issue of Vogue, where she was also quoted as saying "There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn't wait to get to work ever yday? That was really uncool."

So it behooves all of us to not even credit her for being in the Friends cast, I presume.
