When we're little, our parents always told us to share with others since it's the nice thing to do and it's supposed to make you a better person. Well, I think Maggie Gyllenhaal is taking that concept a little too far because the actress has recently admitted to letting her friends borrow her many vibrators. First of all, why does she have so many vibrators? And secondly, why is she lending them out like they're library books? Apparently the reason is because she's starring in Hysteria, a movie about the invention of the vibrator, so several vibrator businesses thought it would be a great PR move to send some samples to Maggie. I guess this is one time where taking your work home with you doesn't seem so bad.
So after she was bombarded with the numerous sex toys while shooting the film, Maggie thought it would be a good idea to give the unwanted ones to her friends to enjoy. Although the sentiment sounds sweet enough, I can't help but find it revolting (and highly unsanitary). Maggie explained her (lack of) thought process, saying, "By the time I finished the movie I'd been sent maybe 15 vibrators by different people in London with vibrator stores. It was a pleasant surprise. So I have this incredible collection, and I actually use like one or two of them. I lend them to my friends, and they'll take them for six months at a time." Is this even socially acceptable? I feel like vibrators should not be traded like baseball cards for purely hygienic reasons, to say the very least. Basically, it's just gross and severely violates the rules of etiquette (Emily Post is rolling over in her grave). Lesson of the day: if you give your friend a vibrator, then let them keep it. Don't ask for it back. Oh Maggie...wait til your brother hears about this.
