Don't expect another surge of nude celebrity photos anytime soon, because the infamous celebrity hacker -- who released some very intimate photos of the lovely Scarlett Johansson a few weeks ago -- has finally been caught. The FBI just arrested 35-year-old Christopher Chaney of Jacksonville, Florida this morning on charges of identity theft and wiretapping. Chaney allegedly hacked into the email accounts of 50 different victims, including Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Mila Kunis, and Vanessa Hudgens. According to the indictment, Chaney used public information to access the email accounts of his victims, which I guess explains why celebrities were targeted (since their lives are already in the spotlight). Law enforcement sources state Chaney acted alone, and received absolutely no money for his escapades -- so basically, he did it for the thrill.
The investigation into the phone-hacking ring began in 2010, when celebrities suspected their cell phones—which included personal and X-rated photos, texts and emails—had been compromised. But now it's judgment day and all creepers should be punished for their wrong-doings. Chaney faces up to 121 years in federal prison if he's convicted on all counts.
