Yes, one of the coolest things about Rashida Jones is that her dad is the famed music producer, Quincy Jones. But it turns out there are many other cool things about her, too! For instance, she also graduated from Harvard. She also wrote an open letter to Tupac Shakur after he criticized her parents' interracial marriage. She's also dated John Krasinski, was voted "Most Likely To Succeed" in high school, and Harper's Bazaar also voted her one of the "Best Dressed Women in America." And oh, another cool thing about Rashida Jones? She hung out with Michael Jackson when she was a kid.
In the latest issue of Playboy, David Hochman sat down with Jones and asked her 20 questions, and what came up was her desire to make her parents proud, the problems she has with the idea of marriage, and how one time when she was in college, she stayed at a rage in Rhode Island until 8 in the morning. But another topic of conversation was her favorite memory of Michael Jackson (who Rashida was close to because her father produced his Thriller album in 1982 and produced "We Are The World," which Jackson co-wrote with Lionel Richie). Rashida explained, "Michael basically grew up with us, so I have a million memories of him. We were at each other’s house all the time. He was definitely a little bit of an alien, for sure, and when I was young, it felt as if he was my age, not 18 years older, but with just a little bit more pep. Later, we’d go out on the town together. He always wore those surgical masks. Once, my sister, Michael, Emmanuel Lewis and I got in a car with Super Soakers and went by a movie theater and supersoaked the hell out of people waiting in line. They had no idea they’d just been supersoaked by the King of Pop." So yeah, good luck convincing anyone that the time a hot air balloon landed in your back yard was totally epic.
