Looks like Ashton Kutcher is finally opening up about the rumors and accusations concerning his alleged affair and potential divorce. Sort of.
In a roundabout way, the actor addresses the reports by lashing out at the media and their lack of honesty in his latest video on chime.in. He basically states that the level of truth and honesty in literature has massively decreased throughout the years. The printing of literature used to be very costly, so writers were careful to make sure that their content was accurate, but now that we live in a world where social media is absolutely free, Ashton believes truth is no longer a priority in publications. Writers are no longer the "gatekeepers of truth," so it's up to the public to decide what to believe.
I can see his point since tabloids rarely seem to use actual facts to produce their stories (I doubt some of these alleged "sources" actually exist). So his claims are valid and he brings up a substantial topic, but I noticed that he still has yet to confirm that the rumors concerning himself are false. Ashton continues to use his own cryptic messages to only further confuse us about the issue. The Two and a Half Men star commented, “We are our own editors and publishers and printers. … People can bastardize the truth in any way, shape or form that they want. A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can leave someone’s lips."
Sooo, the rumors are false then? (That's still up for debate) It's funny -- he calls writers master manipulators of the written word, but he's the one that seems to excel at word-play.
So who should we believe -- the media or Ashton?
