Amanda Seyfried has babies on the brain and she's not afraid to talk about it. All the celebrity baby announcements must be getting to her because the actress confessed on the Tonight Show that she daydreams about hopping on that baby-crazed bandwagon and becoming a mother. The 25-year-old star opened up to host Jay Leno about the topic, stating, "I can't wait to have kids but I have to keep myself in check. I'm not having a baby any time soon." So what's the delay? I think a lack of a boyfriend has a little something to do with it. The In Time star explained, "I don't even have a boyfriend, so it's not going to happen. But I love spending time with babies and daydreaming what it's going to be like for me." The Hollywood starlet got her first taste at a motherhood role when she dated 37-year-old actor Ryan Phillippe, who has two kids: Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8.
This reminds me of the feeling I get when I see a really cute kid on the subway. The child is sitting there either laying sleepily on their parent's lap or quietly playing a game on an iPhone (yes, I've actually seen this) and they are just being so well-behaved that I start picturing the day when I'll have my own kids (which of course will be just as well-behaved as that kid). But once I get off the train, reality sets in and I realize that brief interaction was a false representation of parenthood. Sure, the kid was behaving then, but that's bound to be replaced with tantrums and crying fits. Don't get me wrong, I still hope to be a parent someday, but that realization is enough to remind me that day is not today. So Amanda just needs to catch a glimpse of a full-blown temper tantrum and she'll be cured for the time being.
