Miley Cyrus is happy with her body and she doesn't care who knows it. Recently the artist received some negative comments regarding her weight, but Miley isn't about to take any of it sitting down. In fact, Cyrus stood up to her bullies over the weekend by waging her own personal Twitter war against them. Last Friday, the teen star tweeted about her frustration on the matter, saying, “By calling girls like me fat this is what you're doing to other people," and then referenced an image of a skin-and-bones model. The message also said, "i love MYSELF & if you could say the same you wouldn't be sitting on your computer trying to hurt others."
Additionally, Miley posted a photo of the lovely Marilyn Monroe with the message, “PROOF That you can be adored by thousands of men, even when your thighs touch.” But Miley isn't alone in this fight and has the support of her pal Demi Lovato, who previously admitted to battling an eating disorder. After Miley tweeted at Lovato for having sexy curves, Lovato responded, saying, “@MileyCyrus god I love you. SO DO YOU!!! And whoever called you that has it coming. Miss you more than ever." Miley's final post on the subject said, "I don't wanna be shaped like a girl I LOVE being shaped like a WOMAN & trust me ladies your man wont mind either ;)"
It's amazing how Twitter quickly transitioned from a friendly social networking service into such a hateful, bullying site. When did this happen? One of the great perks of Twitter was you could feel more connected to iconic Hollywood figures, but if this hostility keeps up I doubt many celebs will want any part of it. And who could blame them? They have to deal with enough negative attention as it is. Kudos to Miley for standing up for herself!
