What do Daniel Craig and the Kardashians have in common? The answer is absolutely nothing (except for the being famous thing). For the most part, Craig likes to keep to himself and remains secretive about his personal life. Even his marriage to Rachel Weisz was conducted in a private ceremony with very few witnesses present, which is a far cry from Kim Kardashian's wedding extravaganza. But oddly enough, one thing Craig isn't quiet about is his opinion of the Kardashian family and what they represent.
In an interview with British GQ, the actor explains how once you let the public into your personal life you'll never get your own privacy back, which is something he feels the Kardashians should already know by now. He tells the magazine, "I think there's a lot to be said for keeping your own counsel. You can't buy it back. You can't buy your privacy back. 'Ooh, I want to be alone. 'F*ck you. We've been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta, and now you want some privacy?'" He's, of course, referring to times when the family asks the media to respect their privacy during troubled periods in their lives (like the recent Kim-Kris split). Craig believes they gave up that right as soon as they let the first camera into their home -- and especially after they let the world witness the birth of Kourtney's son. You gotta admit, the man's got a point.
Additionally, he proclaims how absurd it is that the Kardashians receive millions upon millions of dollars each year, just by creating ridiculous drama and acting like fools. He says, "You see that and you think, 'What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f*cking idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions?' I'm not judging it... Well I am obviously." And who can blame him, really? I, myself, have a hard time coming to grips with their insanely large bank accounts.
I can certainly see where Craig is coming from and it actually made me stop and think about how other, higher up celebs may view the Kardashian Klan. There are some seriously talented actors and actresses in the entertainment industry, so it must be upsetting to see reality stars receive such an enormous amount of fame and fortune for doing absolutely nothing. It's got to be at least a little demeaning, so I can certainly understand the resentment Craig has for them. Why is the world so obsessed with this family? It still remains a mystery to me, but one thing's for certain -- I've definitely developed a newfound respect for Mr. 007.
