Sure, his older brother might get to take on space missions, superhero assemblages, haunted cabins and classic fairy tales...but there's one thing Liam Hemsworth is getting to do that Chris hasn't: time travel. The younger of the Hemsworths has signed on for Timeless, a science-fiction drama film being developed by Salt and The Bone Collector director Philip Noyce.
Hemsworth is officially attached to take Timeless' lead: a man who loses his wife and inherits her vast fortune. Unable to get over the loss, the man will spend his time and money researching and developing a time machine so that he can travel back to when his wife was alive. It's actually a fascinating and grounded twist on a science-fiction staple of time traveling, and sounds to be a pretty interesting human story. The script comes from Bill Kelly, who wrote the films Enchanted, Premonition, and Blast from the Past—a movie that I have absolutely no idea why I love so much.
This coming year is proving to be a fruitful one for Liam Hemsworth: he'll also be appearing in the young adult fiction frenzy The Hunger Games come March and the action typhoon The Expendables 2 in August.
