On the new Blu-ray edition of Lady and the Tramp (release date Feb. 7), you'll find a wealth of features that delve into Walt Disney's life and legacy as the film was released in 1955 - which just happens to be the year that Disneyland first opened its doors. The Blu-ray features one vignette that dares to take a more personal look at Walt; "Remembering Dad" with Disney's daughter, Diane Disney Miller, connects Disney fans to the family side of the man who stole the world's hearts.
As a life-long Disney kid, I was thrilled to visit the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco and speak with Miller about her father's legacy and the film that was so dear to his heart. She shared insight on his vision as well as the personal touches from his not-so-secret Disneyland apartment and how they found their way into the design of Lady and the Tramp. The film is released on Blu-ray Feb. 7 and the Diamond Edition disc includes an in-depth look at the man behind the Disney phenomenon as well as a robust set of making-of featurettes.
