Move over, Captain America. There's a new patriotic hero doing battle this summer.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter may be the least conventional action movie to cross audiences paths in a long while, rewriting 19th century history to put our 16th President in the role of supernatural executioner, battling bloodsuckers across America's amber waves of grain. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and starring relative unknown Benjamin Walker (a Broadway star thanks to Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), AL:VH should have no problem living up to the nuttiness of its premise—much like his real life stance on social injustice, the cinematic Lincoln is no-holds-bar when it comes to chopping vampire's into pieces. Probably has something to do with that whole parents-murdered-by-vampires thing.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter co-stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dominic Cooper and Anthony Mackie, and hits theaters June 22. Click the image to head over to EW for a set of exclusive new images from the movie!
