In the hallowed pantheon of dirty movie cops, Rampart’s Dave Brown, played by Woody Harrelson, may rank among the dirtiest. In a performance as raw and stomach-churning as the health-conscious cuisine on which he famously dines, Harrelson potrays a disgraced LAPD officer’s descent into a squalid miasma of paranoia and hedonism, painting a vivid portrait of power’s corrupting effects.
In an exclusive interview, Harrelson spoke with me about Rampart, reuniting with The Messenger director Oren Moverman, downing tequila shots before love scenes with co-star Robin Wright, his upcoming turn in The Hunger Games, and more:
Rampart opens in select theaters this Friday, February 10, 2012.
