The Amazing Spider-ManSony Pictures International has released an alternate and slightly extended trailer for July's The Amazing Spider-Man. The highly anticipated reboot of the web-slinger's film franchise stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, among many others, and is directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer).

The new footage is hard to pick up, even when juxtaposed against the recently released full domestic trailer, because of the lightening-quick editing pace. But one thing that I definitely notice is a continued omission of full-body shots of The Lizard. A superhero is only as good as his villain, and if the physical characterization of Dr. Curt Conners' reptilian alter-ego looks too digitized there could be an elementary issue with the action sequences in the film. As for everything else? I'm stoked. Having seen a fantastic sizzle reel at a Sony sponsored event a week ago, I can say with confidence that the big screen Spidey has evolved in the best sense of the word. Garfield's performance as Spider-Man feels more natural and closer to modern interpretations of Stan Lee's iconic creation, and the rest of the cast that populates Peter Parker's complex world seem like fully developed characters rather than single note throwaways.

Have a look at the new trailer below that can be found on ComingSoon and tell us what you think!
