ALTSorry, guys who were legitimately excited to see G.I. Joe: Retaliation this summer (you know who you are) but you're going to have to mask your disappointment and wait a little bit longer to see The Rock and Bruce Willis Blow S**t Up (alternate title pending.)

Deadline reported on Wednesday that Paramount is pushing the action flick, which was originally slated for a June 29 release, all the way to March 29, 2013. A studio exec explained the reason for the bump was to convert the movie to 3D to make it more profitable internationally. (To think that G.I. Joe: Retaliation was made for profit!) "We’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can better box office internationally,” the source told Deadline, adding, “[James] Cameron did all of Titanic‘s 3D in post – and look how well that movie turned out.”

Aside from the terrible fact that this means there will now be one less Channing Tatum movie this year, it will be interesting to see if this strategic move by Paramount actually pays off. If the G.I. Joe sequel were to stay in its original release date, it likely would have won its box office weekend and would have been far enough away from the major success of The Avengers and the sinking Battleship flop to stand on its own as a summer action movie. (Funnily enough, it would have gone up against Tatum's totally-different-demographic-reaching dramedy Magic Mike.)

Are you disappointed that G.I. Joe: Retaliation is getting moved back to 2013 or would you rather wait to see The Rock and Bruce Willis blow s**t up in 3D? Sound off in the comments section.
