The Dark Knight Rises director/co-writer Christopher Nolan has already left his mark on Hollywood but now he's left a physical one in the cement, too. On Saturday, the filmmaker left his handprints and footprints in front of the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater.

Nolan joined the ranks of Twilight stars Kristen StewartRobert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, who were honored with their own handprint ceremony in November — as well as Jennifer Aniston, who was honored in July 2011. During her ceremony as fans shrieked, Stewart said, "This is so crazy for us. I've been so enamored by this business, Hollywood. … I think this is the coolest thing I've ever done in my life."

Nolan, who was joined by Dark Knight stars, including Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway, and family members, offered a poignant and humble speech.

"There is something about the permanence of these things," he said. "I'm standing on Clint Eastwood's name right now and there's something about knowing that he actually wrote that. There's something very interesting about that phenomenon of trying to preserve something and trying to hang onto it."

But two of his Dark Knight stars beat him to the punch: Morgan Freeman (2002) and Michael Caine (2008) are already immortalized at Grauman's.
