You'd think that one would steer clear of immersing herself into a post-apocalyptic battle royale if she can't even successfully hold up a Los Angeles diner. But Amanda Plummer isn't letting her history of crimes gone awry deter her: the Pulp Fiction actress has been cast in the upcoming The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire.
Plummer will be playing the role of Wiress, a vet of the deadly challenge who returns to the action for the 75th Hunger Games, which pits the living victors of past competitions against one another. Plummer's casting as Wiress is interesting, as she is significantly older than the character as depicted in the book: Plummer is presently 55, whereas Wiress was illustrated to be in her late 30s.
The report follows recent news that Philip Seymour Hoffman would be officially joining the cast for the upcoming sequel.
