The White Men Can't Jump star stands accused of trying to cheat the government out of millions of dollars in false refund claims. He also allegedly failed to file tax returns for six years between 1999 and 2004.
Snipes was thought to have so far evaded arrest because authorities cannot find him--but this is because he is in Namibia shooting action film Gallowwalker, according to the head of the country's film commission.
Edwin Kanguatjivi tells the New York Daily News, "He is in the country shooting a film called Gallowwalker. They're in the third week of shooting."
Snipes could face up to 16 years behind bars if found guilty of the tax offenses, which total nearly $12 million in fraudulently claimed refunds on income taxes paid in 1996 and 1997.
