Bond girl Eva Green completed the hat trick by taking home Best Female Newcomer.

Elsewhere, United 93 won Best British Film and Christopher Nolan was honored with the Best Director award for The Prestige.

Over 50,000 readers of British movie magazine Empire voted for the awards.

Empire assistant editor Ian Freer says, "I'm delighted that Empire readers have decided that Casino Royale is the best film of the year.
