'Anchorman 2' Trailer Goes Very '80s with Hairstyles, Journey, and the Breakdown of Racial Barriers

Just as Anchorman's principal intent was to provide its young viewers a lens into the vast, majestic world of the American 1970s, Anchorman 2 looks to do the same with an even more mystical era: the '80s. About a decade after the events of the first film, the newly released trailer finds Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy and his broadcast team meandering through the Reagen era, trying out new hairstyles, music, and approaches to reading the news.

And what a long, meandering adventure does the film look to take them on, covering all of the benchmarks of the coked up epoch — monstrous 'dos, Journey, SeaWorld, sunglasses, and the destruction of racial barriers. Or at least Ron Burgundy's attempt at the destruction of racial barriers which, as you might surmise, goes a bit haywire. Watch the above trailer to see Ron try his hand at the new age, Steve Carell's Brick find love in an equally... unique Kristen Wiig, and Paul Rudd take his clothes off, for whatever reason.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues hits theaters Dec. 21.
