She's heeere! Rosemarie DeWitt, that is. She's been chosen as the lead in the new Poltergeist remake. This new take on Tobe Hooper's classic horror film will be made by MGM and Fox2000. Gil Kenan will direct and the script will come from David Lindsay-Abaire.

The original film told the story of the Freeling family, whose lives were terrorized by a slew of ghosts who came from the TV (which of course ruined TV for everyone for a little while) and kidnapped little Carole Anne.

The male lead hasn't been cast yet, but we're excited that this film is moving forward. Horror films have been killing it at the box office lately, notably this past weekend's The Conjuring, and it's going to be fun to see a new spin on an old tale.
