A sequel, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, starring Diego Luna, was released in 2004 and a theater production has been wowing audiences on Broadway and in London's West End.
And now film executives are keen to cash in on the continuing popularity of the movie, with a new version of the original picture.
Bosses at Lionsgate productions are currently developing a script with Uptown Girls writer Julia Dahl, according to Production Weekly.
