The new Clash of the Titans film appears to be in trouble already -- movie bosses have hauled the blockbuster back into production for a string of reshoots to fix "some creaky parts."

Liam Neeson, Ralph FiennesGemma Arterton and Sam Worthington are among the stars of the big-budget remake of the cult 1981 film, which is based on Greek mythology.

The movie wrapped this year and is slated for a March release, but studio bosses have decided to regroup the cast and crew in January to reshoot sections of the movie and add some scenes.

And the movie's star Worthington, who plays the hero Perseus, admits the decision was made to address some "creaky" parts of the film.

He tells the Los Angeles Times, "We're going to be going back and shooting more scenes for it. They cut loose with some money so we can add to it. We're going to be shooting more scenes in January, so we're going to be right up against it -- the movie comes out in March.

"There were some creaky parts, but they are the parts that we knew were creaky and that we knew were going to be creaky going into it. The studio is also letting us add some gods and scenes."

And Worthington admits movie bosses are keen to boost the picture's box office potential by adding 3D effects. He adds, "They're talking about making the movie a 3D film."

Clash of the Titans is due for release on March 26.
