Robert De Niro has been busy snatching up roles in high profile projects lately, having recently joined Neil Burger's anticipated thriller The Dark Fields as well as many others. Today, Moviehole reports that the two-time Oscar winner is set to star opposite Clive Owen and Jason Statham in the actioner 'The Killer Elite'.
Prison Break's Dominic Purcell has also been cast in the thriller that follows a group of former British special forces members who are being hunted by assassins. Statham will play a former Navy Seal who is forced out of retirement to save his closest friend. The film, inspired by true events, is based on Ranulph Fiennes' best-seller "The Feathermen" and is currently shooting in Melbourne.
Though he hasn't really shined in the last few years, in my opinion the more De Niro the merrier and, coupled with an already elite cast with likes of Statham and Owen, the project should be triple the fun.
