Singer's 'Jack The Giant Killer' Delayed

Bryan SingerFans of Bryan Singer will have to wait a bit longer for his next film, the fable-inspired fantasy adventure Jack the Giant Killer, says Heat Vision. The movie was to shoot in England this summer.

Apparently, the director of X-Men and Valkyrie is taking pre-visualization work to painstaking lengths in order to properly realize his vision for the film, which centers on a young farmer who is given the opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giant kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess. He'll previz the movie from start to finish and will use a process that will allow him to see the giants in-camera as the actors play opposite them, akin to how James Cameron filmed Avatar. Singer will also take the extra pre-production time to meet with a slew of young actors to fill the lead role of Jack. The trade reports that he's already been in touch with Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus).

Though I wasn't so excited about this film at first, the fact that Singer isn't rushing along with it and is taking his time with the project makes me believe that he understands the responsibility he has to his fans. We could be in store for something really special.
