Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer will continue his working relationship with Columbia Pictures on Babe in the Woods, which the studio has hired him to develop and direct. Mike White (School of Rock, Nacho Libre) wrote the action-comedy, which follows a young Midwestern girl who is targeted by the New Jersey mob after beginning her freshman year at Yale.
White and David Bernad are producing Babe in the Woods, which is a priority project for Columbia. That means a busy schedule for Fleischer, who is also directing 30 Minutes or Less with Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari, and Jesse Eisenberg, and, of course, the requisite Zombieland 2: 3D. Fleischer also reportedly pitched an untitled project to DreamWorks recently, which he'll direct and produce with Nicholas Stoller and Gavin Polone. That's a lot of work for a director whose first feature film debuted only last year! Mazel Tov, Fleischer.
