ALT Adrien Brody and Sharon Stone are replacing Sam Rockwell and Kim Cattrall in Peter Hewitt’s religious comedy Sweet Baby Jesus. The film has an interesting premise: it's about a man named Joe who must accompany his pregnant (and teenage) girlfriend Mary to Bethlehem, Maryland, where the townsfolk take them for the second coming. Brody takes over for Rockwell as Joe, while Sharon Stone will play Mary’s mother. Mary is being played by UK pop star Pixie Lott and Bette Midler has stayed on as a Bethlehem innkeeper.

I’m all over the place on this one. On one hand, Sam Rockwell is leaving, which is terrible news. On the other, so is Kim Cattrall, which is good news. On the other-other hand, it’s an excellent concept, but on the other-other-other hand, it’s directed by the guy who did Zoom and Garfield (yes, the Bill-Murray-thought-it-was-a-Coen-Bros-Movie Garfield). I’ve got a lot of hands, and no actual answers, so I’d wait a bit before getting excited, or giving up, on this one.
