According to reports on Sunday, Warner Bros. and Paramount are to partner on a co-production of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, the adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel that Stephen Daldry and Scott Rudin have been working on for the past several years. Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks have been circling.
The Eric Roth-scripted project had Warner Bros. as the lead studio, but now Warners and Paramount are working on it together. Deadline reported that the studios are in the process of making offers to talent.
The book is about a boy whose father is killed on 9/11. When he finds a key left behind by his father, he embarks on a mission to find out what the key unlocks. Bullock and Hanks would play the parents.
