The new Paramount film, alternately referred to as Triple Frontier and Sleeping Dogs, is an ensemble piece which also saw Sean Penn, Javier Bardem and Denzel Washington linked in the press earlier this year. No offer to Hanks has been made, according to media sources, but Hanks and Bigelow are said to be talking.
Per Deadline, the story is set in the organized crime haven that exists in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.
Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven is producing with Bigelow and Boal, and Grant Hill is exec producer.
According to both reports, it is expected that casting will come together quickly.
