Oh boy, this one sounds like a doozy (but a good doozy, not a bad one). The Odd Life of Timothy Green follows a couple, unable to bear a child, who bury their hopes of child outside... which in turn grows into a child. Needless to say, this is a fantasy movie. And of course, things get really weird with the kid, after all, because he did grow out of the ground from buried wishes.
Anyway, Joel Edgerton has joined the cast as the father in the couple, acting alongside Jennifer Garner. Edgerton has been having quite a good run recently. He starred in the Australian potential award gather Animal Kingdom and has several big projects lined up. He is remaking The Thing with Scott Pilgrim’s Mary Elizabeth Winstead and has Warrior in post-production, where he is a MMA fighter who has to fight with his brother in a tournament.
Of course, most of us know Edgerton as the young Owen Lars, Luke Skywalker’s uncle and Anakin’s half-brother from the Star Wars prequels. Edgerton really brought out the best of Lars, who as everyone knows, was a hard working moisture farmer but had a distrust of the outer galaxy. Sure, Owen kept Luke’s history a secret from him and discouraged him from interacting with Obi-Wan, but he only did it with the best intentions. Their tactic of staying low and out of the spotlight worked well, it did keep Luke out of harm’s way, but it could be seen as being weak. Of course, Anakin would argue that they were weak and it led to Shmi’s kidnapping and death which caused Anakin’s descent to the dark side. So basically Owen is the main cause of the rise of Darth Vader and should be held accountable so way to go Joel Edgerton for causing Darth Vader. Wow, this got out of hand really quickly.
