ALT TEXTPhil Lord and Chris Miller -- the dudes who co-wrote and co-directed Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs -- are now planning to direct a different type of epidemic, and this time, with less spaghetti and more music.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo are in talks with Disney to develop and direct the musical comedy Bob the Musical, a story following "a regular guy who, after a blow to the head, suddenly can hear the inner songs of everyone's hearts as his reality is instantly turned into a musical, much to his dismay." Marc Shaiman -- the man who composed Hairspray -- is writing the music and lyrics. But, if Lord and Miller do plan to do Bob, they'll need to work around their upcoming reboot of 21 Jump Street -- which Johnny Depp now wants to be part of.

Anyway, this is a pretty original idea, right? Well, kind of. For my fellow Scrubs fans out there, this storyline may seem a bit familiar. Back in Season 6 during the episode "My Musical," a patient -- who saw the entire world as a musical because of a brain aneurysm -- came to Sacred Heart Hospital for help. And even before that, Buffy the Vampire Slayer did a musical episode with Season 6's "Once More, With Feeling," which featured a demon that made characters break out into song at random times.

So yeah, despite risking plagiarism there's at least one positive to come from this: Hollywood is finally stealing their ideas from some place other than Broadway.
