'Tis the season to write about Natalie Portman.
The actress -- who just announced her engagement and pregnancy yesterday and is an Oscar front-runner for her Black Swan role -- has another movie coming out, entitled The Other Woman. And, uh, this one looks a little creepy.
In the film, Portman plays an office assistant who has an affair with her boss that ends with him divorcing his first wife and marrying Portman's character. The new couple's first born child dies and the story centers on Portman's role as a step-mom and grieving mother. It's based on the book Love and Other Impossible Pursuits by Ayelet Waldman.
In a probable attempt to make Academy members forget that she's co-starring with Ashton Kutcher in the bound-to-be-horrible romantic comedy No Strings Attached, The Other Woman has an odd release schedule. It will be available on Video On Demand on Jan. 1 and will hit theaters on Feb. 4. Yes, Jan. 1. The same Jan. 1 that's in like, 4 days.
And, okay, I'll go ahead and address the elephant in the room. Yes, Natalie Portman announced yesterday that she's pregnant. Yes, this movie is about a new-born who dies. And yes, we agree, it's all just a little eerie. Check out the trailer below.
