After offending, well, pretty much everyone with his last two films, Sacha Baron Cohen plans to return to the big screen. His next film, The Dictator, will release on May 11, 2012.
Unlike his previous work in Bruno and Borat, The Dictator will not be another mockumentary full of talking penises, awkward celebrity interviews, and opportunities to butcher the national anthem. No, instead, the film will actually present itself as a cohesive story. Crazy, right? In the picture, Baron Cohen will play two roles: a dictator and a goat herder. But regarding the plot, this is all we have -- the film's logline.
"The film tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. It is inspired by the best selling novel, Zabibah and The King, by Saddam Hussein."
So wait, Sacha Baron Cohen as Saddam Hussein? You had me at Zabibah.
