Seems that having your name attached as a writer of one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year has major influence on getting another job. Who knew? Mark Heyman, a former executive in Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky’s production company and one of three credited screenwriters on the filmmaker's Oscar nominated thriller, has been hired to pen Age of Rage. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where all adults have died, leaving the survival of the human race up to a group of teenagers.
So it's basically Lord of the Flies with nuclear bombs. Awesome. Marc Webb is attached to direct (he came up with the idea), but since he has his hands full at the moment shooting Spider-Man, hasn’t yet committed to making it his next directorial effort. I like Swan, Heyman and Webb, so if they can keep this from turning into another pig’s-head-on-a-stick story, I’m all for it.
