You take a renowned director, let him make a film set in Paris, submit it to the most prestigious film festival in France (nay - the WORLD), and what do you expect to happen? Needless to say, Woody Allen’s latest, Midnight in Paris, has been selected to open the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. And when the president of the festival himself describes the film as “a wonderful love letter” to the City of Lights, there’s a bit of nepotism happening. But hey, not that we’re complaining. While we’re never sure if the Woody Allen that shows up will be the good Woody Allen, we’re still hoping this one (starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and Marion Cotillard) will be a good one.
