Ok, Christopher Nolan is just messing with us now. I bet he has a secret team designated with the task of dispersing false rumors to mess with my head and get me even more excited about The Dark Knight Rises. First we had the addition of Tom Hardy followed by Anne Hathaway and Joesph Gordon-Levitt? That’s awesome. And now Marion Cotillard might have a part in the film as well? Be still, my fluttering heart. No, seriously. Be still heart. Ate a little too many candy hearts this weekend.
Anyway, Cotillard has long been fantasized as the ideal Talia Al Ghul, daughter of Liam Neeson's Ra's Al Ghul from Batman Begins, because of her exotic and seductive appearance. However, her involvement is very much up in the air since she’s mighty pregnant at the moment. While the thought of Batman dealing with an expecting girlfriend is funny (gravely voice “I must defend this city. And pick up pampers.”) I doubt it fits in with Nolan's plan. Since I have been chastised before, I feel I should mention that Cotillard’s baby daddy is noted French actor Guillaume Canet.
As Nolan seems to be running through his rolodex (that figure of speech should be updated: scrolling through his contact list, that’s more like it), let’s go ahead and cast the rest of the picture with actors he’s worked with, shall we? Ellen Page would make a great Robin (she’s already done it before probably NSFW btw). I’m sure Guy Pearce could use some work as an extra. And Robin Williams and Al Pacino are definitely the two we need for Statler and Waldor.
