We're not really sure why, but apparently David Fincher thinks that the way you should follow up an Oscar nomination is by directing a 3D biopic of Cleopatra, starring Angelina Jolie. At least that's Deadline reports. The director is reportedly in a "conversation" about joining the project that already features his The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo producer Scott Rubin. The film is based on the bestselling book Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff and focuses on Cleopatra more as a politician and less as a sex goddess.
So yeah, a 3D biopic about Cleopatra? Can't say that this is what we expected from Fincher. Plus, if Jolie's Egyptian accent is anything similar to what she attempted in Alexander, he's, uh, got quite the challenge ahead of him. Seriously. No jokes are necessary. That was just horrible.
